I believe lasting transformation begins with people. Strategies, policies and resources matter, but sustainable change depends on trust, capable institutions and the ability to bring people with different interests together around a shared purpose.

 

For more than 20 years, I have worked across the private sector, international development, academia and rural organizations—leading institutions, building partnerships and supporting complex processes of organizational and territorial change. My experience spans Colombia and international assignments across Latin America, Africa and Asia.​

 

My leadership is grounded in integrity, empathy and accountability, with a strong focus on turning strategy into practical and lasting results.

Leading Across Institutions and Systems

 

At UNDP, I work with governments, Country Offices, businesses, producer organizations and other national stakeholders to design and facilitate collaborative approaches to food-systems transformation. This has included facilitating dialogue around low-carbon agriculture in Brazil and supporting governance and collective-action processes involving coffee and cacao value chains in Peru. The work requires more than technical solutions: it means navigating different interests, building trust and helping institutions move from dialogue toward shared action.

Executive and Organizational Leadership

 

As Executive Director of Fundación Nutresa, I gained first-hand experience leading an organization, working with governance structures and translating institutional strategy into programmes and partnerships.

That experience continues to shape my approach to leadership: clear purpose, strong governance, accountable decision-making and investment in the people responsible for delivering results.

Peacebuilding and Local Leadership

 

My work with ASOFRUANDES, a women-led rural producers' association in Antioquia, has reinforced the importance of locally led development. I support organizational governance, women's leadership and the capacity of rural communities to participate in decisions affecting their livelihoods and territories.

It also connects my international development experience with the realities of peacebuilding and rural transformation in Colombia.

From Strategy to Practice

 

As co-founder of Finca Casa Naranja, I experience the realities of rural enterprise directly—from agricultural production and environmental stewardship to employment, markets and the everyday decisions required to sustain a farm. It keeps my international work grounded in an important principle: policies and strategies ultimately have to work for people in real places.

Across these different roles, my work has consistently involved connecting government, international organizations, businesses, academia, civil society and rural communities around complex challenges.

I focus on building the governance, relationships and shared ownership needed for collaboration to continue beyond an individual project or funding cycle.
